Autumn-Winter 2011/12 –  Alber Elbaz’s signature style of elegance and sophistication shone through once more in Paris. Swaths of black donned the catwalk and took the form of pea coats, pencil skirts, pea coats and black dresses. Along with the black scarecrow hat, the collaboration offered sophisticated chic. Leather holdalls were also high on the agenda, teamed with brogues and heavy gold-rose necklaces to create a completed look. Feminine dresses were having their hay-day with the bulging organza frills around the neck and the hip. Cashmere capes donning red with metal clasps disrupt the black before colour dominated in fuchsia, red and mustard. As prevalent as ever were the off-the-shoulder tailored dresses, whilst new creations of ribbed and cable knit wool tube dresses were fashioned.  Lanvin combined glamour – in the form of a cream silk toga – with practicality –taking the guise of wool tunics and blue silk skirts. The silhouette was not restricting to one size, slim fitting and lose fitting clothes were the order of the day.
