Spring – Summer 2014

Roland Mouret Spring Summer 2014 was inspired by the “beautiful contradictions of the Palais Royal” and the black and white stripes that lie outside the famous landmark. He likes contradictions, “today I shall contradict myself. This is the one way I have of asserting my liberty”, his notes read. For this collection, there were black and white stripes eveywhere, wonderfully balanced with bold colours such as fushia, blue and yellow.

Some silhouettes were nearly sport luxe with a feminine touch that flatter women body’s shape. Towards the end of the show, more sophisticated dresses appeared as well as his well known bodycon dress.

The French designer showed us that the monochrome trend was still in.
