Raf Simons Man Autumn-Winter 2016-17 – Raf Simons presented his first collection for his eponymous label after his departure at Dior at the Paris fashion week.
Oversized is the word. The designer showcased his varsity themed collection which included elongated sleeves, oversized sweaters, cropped jumpers, checks dressing gowns, smoking jackets and puffer jackets.
Raf’s inspiration behind the collection was to relate it back to the things previously worn and to recreate high end looks.
The collection includes green and red sweaters, green pinafore jackets, purple puffer jackets, black school looking blazers as a reminder of high school and school uniforms.
The models wear black straight slim trousers and checked shirts underneath the jackets with the small accessories of black oversized bags and scarfs wrapped around the neck.
The hair also resembles those of school kids with a middle parting and a floppy bob as of David Beckham’s during his football career at Manchester United and colourful socks with black shoes.
The designer looked thrilled backstage after the show as he purposely tried to separate his new collection from his previous work at Dior. Well Raf, it was a success!
