Missoni

Missoni Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Missoni’s will be providing the wardrobe for the revolution. At least that’s what some have gleamed from the FW17 collection overtly celebrating feminism and the strength of women. It was treat to see Angela Missoni espouse the importance of unity and equity. In her clothing signs of this could be seen in the pink triangle (a symbol for AIDS activists), the female symbol, and hearts coyly positioned over the nipples — all knitted in cozy sweater dresses. The rest of the collection saw a variety of tailored suits, knitted jumpsuits and furry coats. The color palette was bright and punchy — a brilliant alternative to the drab blacks, grays and navys we’ve seen. This collection also showed a lot of separate, giving freedom to mix and match, so some outfits looked so perfect together tampering with the styling seemed out of the question. The finishing touch came during the final walk when all the models came out in pussy hats — the symbolic accessory worn at the Women’s March last month. It was a sight to see, Missoni’s way of showing the world that the fashion community was “united and fearless.”
