Thom Browne

Spring-Summer 2014 – It is quite obvious that Thom Browne’s collection this season is heavily inspired by the Military. The colours red, whire and blue are used frequently and other details which lean towards this are the use of lots of buttons, all the models are wearing little white gloves and the hats. The garments themselves have also taken inspiration from either military or naval garments. There are wide leg white trousers, double breasted jackets decorated with images of anchors and epaulets and shirts and ties underneath. The twist on this collection is the use of different fabrics than would have been originally used for these garments; there is a lot of shiny PVC and gorgeous patterned silks. It is made slightly more summery and wearable by the use of sleeveless jackets and lots of different shorts in various lengths.
