Etro

Autumn-Winter 2014/15 – Etro definitely put the ‘etro’ in ‘retro’ with this collection.

Recession? What recession? We have been lifted and taken back into the flapper and glamour days of the 1920s and 1930s in this classic, romantic era of musicals, spats and shenanigans.

Complete matching pin stripe suits along with waistcoats; long tailed coats with the comb overs are the key features in the line of gentlemanly candidates strolling down the catwalk as if embarking along the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Tartan, dog tooth and picnic baskets remind us of the carefree L.A/Hollywood years; the days of Gene Kelly.

As the collection grows, so do the patterns and structures of the suits, prints become more stand offish, materials retreat to velvet and the eras grow with a drastic change in influence to the 1970’s.

An above all entertaining line. Sit back and enjoy the show.
