Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – The design team at Issey Miyake stuck to the basic culture of the brand and created a modern western take on the Japanese fisherman or peasant. With loose cropped trousers or elasticated at the ankle he combined knit fabrics, pleats and bright colours. There were jumpsuits, belted around the waist, paying homage to the increasingly popular adult onesie. Shoulders were rounded and tops had a mid-height collar. They created layers with flannel, ponchos and hoods. Everything about the collection screamed luxurious comfort, more like a collection of pyjamas proving that relaxed chic will be a big hit this year.
