Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – The American Dream was the theme to Riccardo Tisci’s AW 2012 collection, and something that has been an obsession for him since childhood. It seems in this case he incorporated harmony, perhaps something that for him was always prevalent in that particular dream. His man is a man who can wear a plain black suit, shirt and tie, but equally someone who can wear a pleated skirt with a red oversized jumper embossed with stars. Stars and stripes reflected his incorporation of the American flag, red, white and blue were also prevalent, with which he showed an interest in sportswear, denim stripes on what looks like a rugby shirt, black leather stars on what looks like a jock’s leather jacket. There was the sportsman, the Goth, the effeminate in a red skirt and jumper adorned with studs and jewel like stars, the dapper man in a beautiful suit, the biker and the rocker, all harmonised perfectly through the American dream.
