D&G

Autumn-Winter 2011/12 – An emerging trend of AW11 is 30/40s gangster chic and Dolce & Gabbana combined this with Wall Street pre depression suits, 3 piece, luxurious velvet lined collars and thick pin stripe sometimes mismatched trousers with jackets, but only in order to enhance the look. Large heavy coats with faux fur lined collars and trilbies with mismatching hat and rim. They threw in a couple of elaborate red suits, with flower motif and creased silk which brought a bit of colour to the table. As a run on for the first half, the collection also brings a few “dress down” looks of silk underwear and matching dressing gowns in keeping with the luxury of the collection. The 2nd part is definitely more rock and roll with a slight “media” trend. This includes multi pockets and tight striped sweatshirts, 2 toned shirts with “handy” button ties for the tie and cuffs and more casual trousers with button pockets on the outside.  The red plastic bomber jackets, bracers “Dennis the menace” jumpers, thick rimmed glasses and tapered trousers give a more laid back attitude to the model. Brian ferry t-shirt with skinny patent bracers and pink stonewashed jeans, purple velvet trilby. Towards the end of the show Stefano and Domenico married the 2 with sharp 3 piece suits with a trendy younger feel and a more creative edge (red velvet, skinny braces black and pink sequined jackets): show business.
