Maison Margiela

Maison Margiela Man Autumn-Winter 2016-17 – It is reported that since joining the fashion house in October 2014, John Galliano hasn’t focused on menswear design, but only womenswear. However, this year was different as the designer added his stamp on the 2016 menswear collection for the Paris Fashion Week.

On the Margiela catwalk, the collection was inspired by the influence of new eastern European designers presenting us with a cropped quilted bomber jacket which was worn on top of a grey suit styled with shiny black lace up shoes.

The clothes describe the new Parisian aesthetic with a combination of the 90s. Giant duffle coats, long brown cropped quilted jackets with missing sleeves and bulky boots. The models rocked super tight black leather cycling shorts styled with nylon bombers or elongated knitted sweaters.

A punky style was a clear statement to the audience as the models wore Dr Marten look –a-like boots with heavy silver chains and a black turtle neck tops with an added layer of white shirt, which was paired with a long coats.
