Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring-Summer 2016

This season the Louis Vuitton show took its inspiration from the exotic and beautiful Orient. The collection is saturated with the intricate, breath taking designs of oriental floral art. This exceptional print can be seen on many of the pieces, including the array of jackets, shirts, sweatshirts and even on suit jackets; the design can be found delicately placed on jacket breasts or boldly printed over entire surface areas. Ghesquière also channels the Orient with the colours he has chosen for the collection; ethereal baby pinks, oyster whites and chameleon yellows enhance the delicate floral art, this as well as the use of silks and satins add to the references towards The East.

Another stand out from this collection was Ghesquière decision to contribute double denim into the show; the white stitching used against the blue denim create an extremely retro and intriguing image. Ghesquière also embosses the LV emblem on many of the garments, as is common with Louis Vuitton, this particular season the embossing is subtle yet charismatic.
