Junya Watanabe Man

Junya Watanabe Man Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Collaborations are being seen on the catwalks of Paris Fashion Week. Junya Watanbe collaborates again with the outdoor brand The North Face.  This high- low mixture is being seen more in recent shows resulting in interesting looks. Designers are recognising that they are able to learn from one another and thus show development in their ideas.

Influence of The North Face can be seen on the outerwear shapes and detailing. The North Face logo was used in a bold manner across jackets.  Sporty duffle bags and rucksacks complimented the presence of hoodies. Junya Watanbe’s innovative use of fabrics gives rise again. Quilted leather patches were seen on shoulder of tweed jackets. The patchwork on jackets consisted of contrasting materials and colours. Black, grey, khaki, brown were lifted with the dash of electric blue, red, orange and yellow.

There is a clear young and urban stamp to this collection. The 90’s sportswear influence is celebrated with confidence.
