Jil Sander

Jil Sander Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Jil Sander’s Rodolfo Paglialunga took an interesting route for the label’s FW17 collection. Instead of playing up the female form, he shrouded it in billowy silhouettes and boxy cuts. Some of which looked awkward on the lithe models. Especially the exaggerated shoulders which were a little too… Exaggerated. We did like, however, the puffer jackets. In these looks, Paglialunga was able to find the right balance in proportions. In look 30, there was one such jacket crafted from satin-shell and styled with a salmon-hued top that simultaneously gave us retro and futuristic vibes (anyone who’s seen the “San Junipero” episode of Black Mirror knows what I mean). We wish he would have explore this track a little bit more. Some of the final looks had real potential. A chunky ankle-length sweater with an asymmetric slit. A glossy copper coat. Lurex dresses in glittering metallic hues. All left us intrigued, but wanting a little bit more.
