Autumn-Winter 2013/14 – Armani Privé consistently articulates maturity and class in the brands grown up proposition. This is exactly what was delivered for the AW13/14 Couture show, in what proved to be a particularly commercial collection. A muted palette opened the show, with beige and cream being the colour of choice for a variety of suits. Single-breasted blazers gave a softer silhouette, especially when worn with slightly ruffled knee-length skirts and loose, breeze-easy trousers. The discreet moon-light shimmer to the suiting was a hint of what was to come, as were the brass earrings and oversized pearl necklaces along the occasional feather choker. Lace was the fabric of choice creating chic black dresses and progressing as a print on billowing trousers and jackets. Ultimate-glamour pieces came by way of fur sleeves and a shimmer of metallic hues such as rose gold, gold and silver. The assemble of flow length lace gowns closed what was a collection based on style, grace and class.
