Giambattista Valli

Giambattista Valli Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2015 – Rock chic meets style queen is this year’s theme at Giambattista Valli’s Couture show this afternoon.

The colour pallet was varied this season as you can expect from the brief introduction. The collection opted for pale rose, jet black, white, lime green and a pop of yellow in selected looks.  However the pink shade shone above the rest and suggests floral was Valli’s biggest inspiration for Spring/Summer 15.

The catwalk featured netted dresses and skirts over flared trousers. Instantly drawing attention to the waistband and the tiered design approach. Sculpted structured tunics flattered the hips and exaggerated the female figure. Any designer, especially Haute Couture one’s, which adapts silhouettes and shapes are a winner for me.

The looks also featured 3D floral embroideries, puffy sleeves and neck ruffs. Teamed with ivory guipure lace to add class to a collection associated with prettiness.

The finale looks of the show surprised me. Pink tulle and ruffle ball gowns took over the runway and created an enchanting atmosphere. Something you’d expect from couture.
