Ermanno Sceverino Spring Summer 2016

This collection from Ermanno Scervino is glamorous and ultra-feminine with masculine details that only seem to enhance the overarching femininity. The first look is compiled of classic shapes, with a pale yellow grecian top over a diamond patterned brocade skirt. This brocade is a recurring print through this collection, appearing on a trumpet skirt, a long coat and more. Loose jumpsuits gathered above the ankles and at the elbow are paired with simple two-strap heels and a belt for a chic yet relaxed feeling.

Lace and sheer flourish on dresses or over high shorts and triangle tops. A pattern of red palm fronds make up a coat, featuring red jewel brooches shaped as leaves over a blue blouse with tiny silver buttons and a bright red floral skirt. The palm frond pattern is seen again on a coat of appliques sewn into a broderie anglaise pattern of white leaves.

The footwear is elegant and rather refined, featuring strappy platform heels, sparkling slippers, over the ankle boots and maribou detailed heels in black. The details of the collection are demure in that they do not take the center stage but quietly add to the piece as a whole. This season has offered a feminine collection filled with contemporary classics that will shine as a whole or alone.
