Diesel Black Gold

Diesel Black Gold Woman Autumn-Winter 2016 – Diesel’s return to Milan Fashion Week was evident through the youthful spirit of the collection. Having been to New York, Andreas Melbostad seems to have picked up some street style tips and channelled it through the oddly paired outfits.

The hemlines remained above the knees, as lampshade skirts gave a new structural meaning to sportswear silhouettes. Ribbed necklines also added to the latter elements, whilst other pleated skirts made perfect kilts for tennis.

The nocturnal palette kept to the AW nature of the collection, whilst the rubber wellies paired with each looks advised to expect rain. The term ‘oversized’ was taken to new depths with quilted blanket coats, layered beneath midnight blue peacoats- resulting in dynamic outerwear.

The quilting made appearances on almost every garment, -the previously mentioned lampshade skirts and polo tops, whilst lace added delicacy to airy trousers. In contrast, Melbostad did not skimp out on the heavier fabrics of wool and leather for maximum warmth.
