Burberry Prorsum

Burberry Prorsum Women Autumn-Winter 2015 – Paisley, quilting, suedes and fringing… Burberry’s going Boho for Autumn/Winter 15.

Considering the front row consisted of brand favourites Naomi Campbell, Jourdan Dunn, Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne, the show already proved to be one of the most glamorous but as the first model drifted down the runway in a patchwork fringed poncho clutching the new Burberry Bucket Bag, Christopher Bailey had us guessing there were even more beautiful things waiting behind the scenes.

Whilst smoky eyes  and nude lips demonstrate make-up being minimised, trademark trenches have also been replaced in favour of double-breasted jackets, enveloping navy ponchos and fringed suede capes. Fitting the Bohemian theme, fringing proved fundamental with tassels taking over skirts, bags and boots.

Patterns also governed the collection with male and female fashions debuting Seventies inspired clashes whilst overall softening was achieved through Bailey’s choice of fabrics and textures. Reserving shearling and suede for capes and jackets, sheer materials were used to create skirts with horizontal block panels.

With chosen musician Clare Maguire singing The Animal’s ‘House of the Rising Sun’ before finishing the confetti-showered finale with ‘My Sweet Lord’ by George Harrison, Burberry’s collection is one inviting you to unleash your inner hippy.
