Balmain Women Spring Summer 2016

In his trademark style, Oliver Rousteing’s SS16 vision for Balmain was one of sexiness: A harlequin diamond was the key pattern for the show, and was used to simultaneously cover and reveal the body over the arms and torso; Sheer patterned panels were placed over the upper thighs, boldly flashing the sides of the hips; and the feminine hourglass shape was exaggerated through bodycon cinched in at the waist and power shoulders.

Burnt orange suede and turquoise lace up heels grabbed the attention, while ruffles were also incorporated to maxi skirts and dresses. Rousteing also used fabric diagonally crossed over at the chest to create a halterneck shape that daringly revealed the sternum and emphasised womanly shape. Hair was scraped back into fierce ponytails that hung straight down the back, which accentuated chandelier earrings, and Rousteing used a plethora of his famous model friends to showcase the pieces.
