Balmain Menswear Spring-Summer 2016
Rousteing delivers an exceptional collection; he successfully manages to execute a collection that is immersed in attention to detail. Every single piece that features within this collection has been beautifully created and remarkably designed. Rousteing praise lies within his ability to merge exciting pieces without stepping into garish territory; he uses an array of fabrics styled together including suede, leather and silk to name a few. The finish and cut of each piece is exquisite and provides references to Rousteing’s attention to detail, with his vision to weave leather, emboss suit jackets and add pleat details to many of the garments. He includes ruffles, wrap finishes and lace details, he does all of this keeping in a rigid muted colour pallet, which is why the collection remains chic. In typical Balmain style the show has a militant essence to it, there are references to Britain through the use of the British Flag, and tiger print is the other print used in the collection.
