Ann Demeulemeester

Ann Demeulemeester Women Spring Summer 2016 –

Sebastian Meunir’s debut collection for Ann Demeulemeester was dark and moody; androgyny was key as models strutted down the catwalk in trouser suits, with sweptback hair and make up focussing only on the eyebrows and cheekbones.

The colour palette was muted: black and grey, occasionally jolted by flashes of lime green. Meunir incorporated S&M inspired body harnesses and jewellery with spikes, and leather was in abundance. Sheer black long sleeved tops were layered underneath leather waistcoats and suit jackets. The Ann Demeulemeester woman is overtly sexy, but not in a feminine sense – Meunir’s vision is one of sultry power dressing.
