This fantasy romance did not drum much popularity at the time of release, but over the years has accrued a cult following to become a classic of the Eighties. The story centred around nine sisters who sprung to life from a town mural and are actually Olympian goddess muses sent to inspire humans to follow their dreams.

Kira, played by Olivia Newton John, breaks the rules by falling in love with her subject, Sonny, and it becomes a love story. The fashion of this film inspired billowing sheer sundresses, sparkly lycra jumpsuits and metallic belts and shoes. It plays on such feminine beauty that every girl wants to jump on their roller skates and sexily float through the park.
