Egypt

Unique SS12

Egypt has always had a huge influence on the fashion industry due to its rich culture and inimitable style. Ancient Egyptian style is still replicated by designers today, and is renowned for its combination of comfort and beauty. Plain linen robes were elegantly draped across the body and embellished with gems and jewels to add an air of luxury to a basic outfit. Possibly the most iconic representation of Egyptian fashion comes in the shape of Cleopatra, now a fashion icon due to Elizabeth Taylor’s portrayal of the Egyptian heroine. The influence of Egyptian fashion is often seen today, and Cleopatra is often referenced as a muse that sums up the elegant style that the country is renowned for.
