宽幅花边蕾丝是一种在整个织物上重复简单镂空图案的织法，而不是仅仅出现在某些区域的织法。这种蕾丝是由码布循环打结或者编织精细的线头而制成的有图案的网状蕾丝。最初蕾丝都是手工制成的，但是在19世纪初左右机织蕾丝开始变得更受欢迎。像普通标准织物一样宽幅花边蕾丝主要按米出售，恩不是像其它蕾丝织物一样按套出售。这种蕾丝通常比较便宜因为他可以大量的生产并且主要用于婚纱、裙装或者其它服饰。
