千鸟格类似于小的、破碎的或是锯齿状的格子。这些格子由四角星组成，互相之间相互连接，这种花样也叫做犬牙花纹，以黑白色最为常见，以创造出对比效果，也有其它颜色的千鸟格花纹。这种花样是色织织物，通常由羊毛或是类似纤维制成的粗呢效果的面料。
