Vionnet

Vionnet Women Autumn-Winter 2015 – Destruction and reconstruction and natural elements landed on the ethereal, moss tree draping fall-winter catwalk of Vionnet.

This collection took a classic theme and ran with it. Deconstruction came in the form of lava- splatter (inspired by an erupting Icelandic volcano of which creative director Goga Ashkenazi and five people from her design team flew over), spore-spotted knit furs, and cracked paint effect leather separates.
Draped muted pink and blue dresses which were handled lightly started off the collection and were the ritual homage to house signature of fluid draping and bias cuts, an aesthetic set by the founder of the label, Madame Vionnet.
The collection soon escalated to include a transparent cape and miniskirt made from wire mesh, blue plaid maxi dress with rectangle shaped mesh window cut outs and a motif of oversized hoods ran throughout. Backless façade dresses, pants with built in shoes, paint splattered mohair separates, halter necks and thigh high splits which exposed bandaged gladiator styled sandals, which Ashkenazi followed through from her Pre Fall 15 collection.
Pulled down the catwalk were roller luggage mosaic handbags, inspired by none other than Ashkenazi herself as she often finds herself lugging handbags through airports. Practical and stylish.

The show ended with an icy blue dress which accentuated the natural female form and was inspired by a Greenlandic iceberg. Models strutted the down the catwalk at Centre Pompidou with natural make and simple hair with a middle or side parting.
