Spring-Summer 2014– I couldn’t help but feel that the 90’s power dressing was on Massimiliano Giornetti’s mind for Salvatore Ferragaos for the coming season with the trouser skirt and tailored jacket. The harmonious neutral shades of rich caramels which were a refreshing change for the Milan shows and showed for him is was all about the cut of the pieces.

The clothes were deconstructed and featured pleated leathered skirts with buckle details. It was clear to see that the Jacket is the main focus, working it into the skirts, dresses and even back in to the jacket. Each piece is sharply tailored with a feminine masculine edge which will instant give you the power walk, from the lose fit trousers to kilt like skirts, it’s a relaxed approach to tailoring. We see slight fluidity in the silk draped dresses, which move softly around the body and working subtle prints also. A very softly spoken collection from Salvatore Ferragamo this season, but still a powerful one.
