Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – Jean Paul Gaultier produced a contradiction in terms with this collection. His usual futuristic style was overrun with nods to the primitive, an oversized fur gilet, a lamb wool pullover and corduroy. Business suits were teamed with baggy leather bomber jackets, camouflage with brights and smart was made casual with a top hat and tails teamed with tracksuit pants and clumpy biker boots, a hoody teamed with a tuxedo. He focused on layers; a three piece suit was not with a waistcoat, but with a calf length kilt. Faux fur scarves draped over shirts and waistcoats, a thin hoody, a cardigan and a waistcoat all in one. Almost all the models sported head gear, trilbies, fedoras and knitted beanies and his prints went from hard to soft, with a head to toe brick motif in one look and a wispy floral like design on a delicate white shirt. It was definitely a full collection and a feast for the eyes.
