J.W.Anderson

J.W.Anderson Women Spring Summer 2016 – Anderson once said of his work: “You need to make sure that at least 35 per cent of it is something that you’re not comfortable with, because if you get too comfortable you know that it’s stale.”

Underwear as outerwear kicked off the J.W.Anderson show with a risqué bang. Big news for small breasts as tiny balconette bras were featured over tops and built into knitwear. Double cross body bags were worn to look like suspenders with gathered hem trousers, a micro trend which will be easy for the fashion pack to mimic. Futurism sat alongside strong 80’s influences in the collection. Ruched metallic dresses worn with lace shorts peeking from underneath shown beside frilled jumpsuits with padded chests.

Voluminous ‘leg of lamb’ sleeves appeared on bold graphic print tops. Models wore oversized gold chokers inspired by a Richard Zawitz sculpture which they later posed beside after the show. Playful miniskirts with colour pop panels were worn with slicked hair which hung in a twisted braid at the back.
