Alexis Mabille

Alexis Mabille Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2016 – At first glance, one cannot help but recall the dramatic first look upon the classic femme-fatale: a vision in a classic shape, exuding confidence and sex appeal. Mabille’s creations bring this idea to the forefront, offering refreshed versions of classic silhouettes.

With the exception of the occasion deep green or pale peach, the collection is comprised of white, black and navy blue, while defined waists, feathers and lace give texture and detail to these sophisticated pieces. The collection opened with a feather-trimmed, luminously white trench coat, followed by a fitted black lace dress with a sweetheart neckline and a delicate lace collar.

Feathered trench coats appear later in the collection as well, in shorter lengths of black satin.

While not every look exuded sex, each did offer a refined femininity and dramatic flair. A sleeveless, button-down, collared tunic over a full, dark blue skirt draws the eye to the waist, while an ombre coat in wavering frills over bright white slacks creates a dramatically contrasting silhouette. A fitted, pale peach dress with white lace overlay and a white satin train was followed by a sleeveless, trailing, black satin cape over a simple white gown hemmed in white flowers.
