Sophia Webster Wins BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund

Sophia Webster was announced last Tuesday as the winner of the 2016 BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund prize, leaving her with £200,000 and a year of mentoring to promote and grow her business.

The Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council, Caroline Rush CBE, commented, “Congratulations to Sophia Webster who has deservingly received this year’s BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund. The judging committee was impressed by her brilliant talent and thorough business acumen; seeing great potential for developing her label into an internationally acclaimed British brand. Sophia has an amazing ability to turn accessories into masterpieces and we are thrilled to support her at an exciting time of growth.”

Already a solidified brand, Webster’s shoes retail in over 200 stores globally, including the likes of Selfridges and Harvey Nichols. Webster promotes her pieces as luxury footwear, offering whimsical shapes in styles that range from trainers and flats to stilettos and wedges. Beads, gilded wings, pompoms and pastel colours are just a few of the girly details that sets her work apart – now available as ‘mini’s’ for the well-heeled daughters of her followers. Webster has introduced both a bridal collection and a number of handbags.
