Sibling’s Joe Bates Dies
Last weekend, the joint creative director of Sibling, Joe Bates, has died following a ‘long battle with cancer’ – the announcement was reported through Love Magazine’s Instagram on Tuesday afternoon.
The announcement read, “We are incredibly saddened to say that Joe Bates, one third of the designers SIBLING, and both a great personal and professional friend and friend to all who work at LOVE, passed away this weekend after a long and brave battle with cancer.”
Following on from the news, fashion industry personnel along with fans of the label have been quick and eager to pay tribute to the designer via social media, with a message from Sibling’s official account thanked the well-wishers for their messages of condolence.
Bates died at the age of 47, and built the label in 2008 alongside partners Sid Bryan and Cozette McCreery.
