NYFW’s New Locations Confirmed

Yesterday, IMG revealed that New York Fashion Week was moving from its Upper West Side location at Damrosch Park in the Lincoln Center to two new venues downtown. The Spring/Summer 2016 showcase will be held at Skylight at Moynihan Station (360 West 33rd Street) and Skylight Clarkson Square (550 Washington Street).

Following the recent departure of designers such as Diane von Furstenburg, Michael Kors and Vera Wang from the IMG show space, the new accessible location is expected to encourage the return of such names.

Mark Shapiro, chief content officer at IMG told Women’s Wear Daily, “We’re looking forward to reintroducing the industry to a showcase of creative talent, style and innovation that made the New York runways famous. Part of this showcase involves staying close to inspirational hubs for fashion, art and music, and we’ve found a great new home for that in Skylight at Moynihan Station and Skylight Clarkson Sq.” IMG’s new venues will be introduced to the industry this September, in time for spring fashion’s next presentation.
