LFW: creative flora and fauna prints at Issa

Posted on

Issa indulged in this season’s trend for sheer fabrics, pleats, and squiggles. In her second runway season with the brand Farrier chose to open with a series of monochrome opening looks gave way to navy blue then a stamping horses print that played cleverly with the negative space.

Pleats came next, then a wash of color blocked looks in bright pinks and oranges. The animal print parade returned, with a mix of fierce modernist stallions and black cats. To add to the fauna, what better than a bit of flora? Woven string tops were tied together in petal patterns, before more abstract black and white flowers and some monochrome daisy embellishment rounded off the collection.

With models wearing open-toed black mules, the hair and makeup was equally toned down. Girls went out with flawless ‘nude’ faces except for the thick rings of kohl eyeliner, and had their tresses center-parted and pulled back into sleek ponytails.
