David Beckham Signs Five Year Deal With Savile Row Tailors

Former footballer David Beckham has signed a five year deal with Savile Row tailor brand Kent and Curwen, where his involvement will span across all aspects of the business, including product development, market expansion, advertising and store design and location.

Beckham, who is also a current collaborator with Swedish high street retailer H&M, has said “I’m always looking to work with brands and companies that have a rich history and authenticity. When this authenticity is rooted in the country that I came from, it attracts me even more to the partnership.”

It has so far been suggested that the capsule collection, launching for autumn 2016, will be named ‘Kent and Curwen, Inspired by David Beckham’. The line will also be set at a more affordable price that Kent & Curwen’s main line, and an exclusivity agreement signed by Beckham ensures that this will be the only fashion line for the retired footballer.

“I’ve always been inspired by simple, effortless style,” said 40-year-old Beckham in regards to his new venture. “Sometimes it’s a pair of classic jeans and a T-shirt and sometimes it’s a great suit from a classic British tailor. I experimented with fashion a lot when I was younger, but as you get older you tend to have a greater understanding of what fits and suits you.”
