Today, the British Fashion Council revealed the nine emerging designers selected for this year’s NEWGEN sponsorship.

Originating in 1993, the NEWGEN foundation provides financial support for the businesses of talented upcoming designers. Topshop has sponsored the scheme since 2001, making this highly coveted opportunity possible.

The recipients of spring/summer 2016’s sponsorship programme include:

1205, Ashley Williams, Ryan Lo (catwalk sponsorship)

Claire Barrow, Danielle Romeril, Faustine Steinmetz, Molly Goddard (presentation sponsorship)

Marta Jakubowski, Sadie Williams (exhibition sponsorship)

The NEWGEN scheme is intended to assist emerging talents in building global, high-end businesses out of their labels. Successful previous recipients of the sponsorship include J.W. Anderson, Erdem, Christopher Kane, Mary Katranzou, Meadham Kirchhoff, Alexander McQueen, Simone Rocha, Matthew Williamson, and many more.

This year’s recipients will showcase their collections at London Fashion Week (18-22 September 2015) with their funding from the scheme.
