Barbie by Jeremy Scott for Moschino

For Moschino’s spring/summer 2015 collection, Jeremy Scott brought classic Barbie elements to the runway with bright pinks and big blonde hair. Now, Jeremy Scott has designed a Moschino collection for Barbie, bringing the big hair back along with black leather and the Moschino brand. Scott cited Barbie as a source of creative inspiration, saying that “The thing I love most about Barbie is that she is the ultimate muse, she’s worn every style and design imaginable and at the same time she’s had every possible profession you can dream of.” Jeremy Scott isn’t the first designer to dress Barbie, Karl Lagerfeld being among those inspired by the doll to design looks in the past.

The dolls, African-American or caucasian, will be dressed in knee-length mesh leggings under a faux leather pencil skirt, topped with a black bomber jacket or a white t-shirt featuring the slogan, “the most Moschino t-shirt ever.” Accessories abound, from a backpack to Moschino shopping bags and quilted purses and gold jewelry. Along with the doll and her accessories, a small capsule collection will be available for women, which will include the Barbie outfits as well as t-shirts featuring the barbie dolls.

The Moschino Barbie will be available online starting November 9th, priced at $150, along with the small capsule collection for women.
