Alexander Wang to Leave Balenciaga?

Posted on

Today’s reports suggest that after just over two and a half years Alexander Wang could be set to be leaving Balenciaga – remaining true to his contract which binds him to the brand to still work on the forthcoming spring/summer 2015 collection which will be showing at Paris Fashion Week in October, but there is an apparent uncertainty beyond that point.

Wang, along with Kering spokesperson, this morning told WWD that “there are discussions between the designer and Balenciaga regarding the renewal of the contract,” however a conclusive statement surrounding the discussions remains unobtained.

Nonetheless these rumours are not suggestive of the brand struggling in any way – in the past seven years the fashion house has grown from only three stores to over ninety demonstrating a huge means of global expansion, along with celebrations of accelerated double-digit growth in “almost all categories” last year.
